Sharia Unit Manulife Indonesia started its operation after receiving:
- Recommendation from National Sharia Council – Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI)
On January 22, 2009, the recommendation was given and the number was: U-024/DSN-MUI/I/2009. Within this decree, 3 members of Sharia Supervisory Board have been appointed to facilitate and provide oversight on the operation of Sharia Unit Manulife Indonesia.

The Company officially open the Sharia Unit based on the Decree of Ministry of Finance Number: KEP-107/KM.10/2009 on May 13, 2009.
The inauguration of this new unit has also been marked with the launching of new product, Berkah SaveLink. This product that has been developed with Sharia principles truly complement the existing portfolio of Manulife Indonesia, therefore the customers can determine the alternatives of financial plan and life protection as well.
